Rise of the Machines: 2-Day Airbrush & Weathering Workshop with Dan Ozborne

Join famed American painter Dan Ozborne for an in-depth exploration of robot, knight, and titan painting techniques. Unveil time-saving tricks and incorporate essential products like airbrush stencils & liquid latex mask into your workflow.

Day 1: Students will learn true metallic metal colors, unleash amazing heraldry with stencils and masking techniques, and learn incredible OSL effects.

Day 2: Students will delve deep into unique weathering methods with cracking medium, texture paint, oils, Dirty Down Rust and more.

Suitable for all skill levels, the class includes two printed models, essential supplies for hands-on practice, and a catered lunch!

What to Bring:

• An airbrush setup including:
  • Compressor
  • Airbrush plus ANY tools needed to clean or disassemble your airbrush (such as wrenches for Iwata brand)
  • Airbrush hose and any connection tool you need for your setup
  • Airbrush cleaning pot/cup (I use a pair of plastic cups
  • Airbrush cleaner (water & ISO mix is great)
• Airbrush thinner
• Airbrush flow improver
• Paper towels
• Nitrile Gloves are encouraged (black)
• Hair dryer is encouraged but not necessary
• A hobby knife/razor blade
• A variety of old and new paint brushes, and a wet or dry palette.
• A large sized dry brush & sharp detail brush are essential.

A selection of weathering products will be on hand to be used during the class including: oils and dirty down rust.
Feel free to bring your own paint supplies or purchase them from Firestorm Games.
Desktop hobby lights are strongly encouraged.
